Debenture Return Details – Deadline for K1 Today
A few parents have been asking about the debenture return details.
K2 children are assumed to be automatically leaving unless we have notified ESF that they will remain for an extra year. Therefore K2 parents do not need to notify us that their children are leaving at the end of this term.
K2 debentures will be returned within 2 months of the final day of school, into the account from which your school fees are paid.
As the billings department have a record of your debentures it is not necessary to return the certificate to the school, however you may do so if you wish.
Parents of K1 children need to notify us in writing by the end of today if they are not returning after the school holidays. Their debenture money will be returned in the same way as the K2’s provided they give the appropriate notice for leaving.
If you are leaving school before the end of term please let us know so that we can say goodbye.
Staff Leavers
Sadly Nicole Gouws and Zoe Swai will be leaving us at the end of this term. Nicole is moving over to Lantau and will move to our sister ESF Kindergarten in Tung Chung. Nicole has been a valuable addition to the teaching team at Abacus and will be missed next year. We have already appointed her replacement and Olivia Kane will join us from the UK. Olivia is from and was trained in the UK. She holds a 3 year degree and post Graduate Certificate of Education from a UK university. We look forward to welcoming her in August.
Zoe is returning to Africa with her family in August and we will be interviewing for her replacement on Friday of this week. Although Zoe has only been with us for a short time she has been a great help to the K1 team. Good Luck Zoe on your new exciting adventure.
Penny Loveridge has been working with one of our children with additional needs and will also be taking a rest for her maternity leave for a term. We wish Penny the best of luck with the new baby.
Classes for Next Year
We have now decided our class teacher and Educational assistant placements for next year. They will be as follows.
K1 Billingual Class: Olivia Kane (New), Susanne, Sue
K1 English Class: Liv (Olivia kotyck), Anita and Michelle
K2 English Class: Fiona, Bridgette, Jackie
K2 Billingual Class: Danielle, Allison, Julie/ New Educational Assistant
We will have two Olivia’s in K1 therefore our current Olivia will be known as Liv next year to avoid confusion.
Library Books
We will be sorting out the library in the final few weeks of term therefore please return all library books by this Friday 16th June. There will be no more borrowing until next school year.
