K1 Leavers
We know some children will leave to go to Kellet or Hong Kong Academy at the end of K1. If you know your child will be leaving at the end of K1 please can you let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the place for August early. This gives new families time to also withdraw from their current schools. Please see the paragraph below from the website.
Student Withdrawal
If your child is going to withdraw from the Kindergarten, please complete the official “Student Withdrawal Notice” and submit the notice to school admission office at least two calendar months in advance. In any event if your child will be leaving school at the end of the school year, withdrawal notice must be received by 14 June. Otherwise your debenture on account will not be redeemed. If a student is not returning to school in the following year and his/her parent has not informed the Kindergarten of the withdrawal on or before 14 June , the parent is liable to the tuition fees for September even if the student does not return to school.
The Student Withdrawal Notice can be downloaded from the school’s web-site or available at school office.
Please note: children leaving at the end of the K2 year do not need to complete this withdrawal notice.
Sports Day
Thursday 30th March is our Abacus sports day weather permitting. The sports day will be held at Abacus, with children rotating around a variety of sporting activities. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult, however, if you are unable to attend please let your teacher know and we will make provision for the children whose parents or helper cannot attend to be accompanied by one of our staff.
Please complete this google form to let us know who will be attending and whether your child will take the bus home.

Easter Camp and Playgroup
We will be running an Easter camp and playgroup during the holidays for 4 days during the week of 10th-13th April.
Please see the attached flyer if you are interested in enrolling your child.

K1 Art Exhibition & Picture Frames
The K1 Art Exhibition will take place next Friday 24th March. Parents will be invited in for a 1 hour session with their child to view their child’s artwork. Information was sent out last week and can be found below if you missed it.
In the meantime if you have any picture frames that you don’t need hanging around at home, please donate them to school as we would like some more frames for displaying children’s work in.

Speech and Language Therapy Sessions
We now have a new speech and language therapist working at Abacus during the school day. If you have any concerns about your child’s language, the therapist is able to provide a comprehensive screening to determine whether you child needs ongoing therapy.
Our new therapist is also able to provide on site therapy sessions for any children who need ongoing speech and language therapy. If you are interested or would like more information please contact allison.banbury@abacus.esf.org.hk
