PYP Evaluation
We are very pleased our IBO evaluation visit is now finished for another 5 years. The feedback was positive and we await the report at the end of June to give us some guidance around our next steps. The team were extremely positive about the teaching and learning and the learning environment at Abacus. We expect our next steps to be around providing more support for mother tongue language learning.
Visitors at Abacus
You may have heard we have had some exciting visitors at Abacus in the past few weeks. Two weeks ago two wild boar ran through the front garden and this morning when we were setting up we found a rat snake in the sand pit. The rat snake is non venomous, despite this we kept all children off the playground this morning and the police were called. Sadly by the time the snake catcher arrived the snake had slithered off down the bank and away from school.
Whilst we were waiting two monkeys skipped across the roof. The joys of a rural kindergarten. If you would like to see some photos and video of our visitor, have a look here.
We do have emergency procedures around wildlife in place and make every effort to keep children safe when these incidents happen.
K2 Teatowels
Every year for the K2 leavers we ask all of our children to draw themselves and write their names. These are then printed onto a souvenir teatowel for parents. These also make terrific gifts for grandparents etc.
Usually parents who don’t order them regret it later when they see them so please don’t miss out if you would like one.
The deadline for ordering and payment is this Friday June 9th as we are on a tight deadline to get them back before the end of term.
Teatowels cost $70 each and there is no limit to the number you can order.
Please complete this form and send a cheque to school by Monday 1st June made payable to ESF Educational Services Ltd or transfer the money into HSBC account: (Branch Code 004) No:511335069001 and send a copy of the transaction slip to kinder@abacus.esf.org.hk
